Resolutions.

I'm going to use this post as kind of a "confessions" or put myself out there kinda post.
Recently I've had this urge to write. To put my feelings and thoughts down on paper (or some sort of black and white!). Even though I have these feelings, I'm not that great of a writer. I will sit down and put words on a page, then read it and think, "that sounded so much better in my head." But here is to organizing my thoughts on paper.

One thing I would like to write is more blog posts. Share more about my life. Not that it is that interesting, but, being a stay at home mom, it would feel more like some human interaction, even if that interaction is just me, my thoughts and a computer.

Another thing that I would like to write is children's books. My sister and I make some baby/children things. Swings. Bedding. Clothes... She has been way more successful at it then me. I seems to have too many interests. I will make one thing then have another idea and want to make something else. (And then I'm pretty much the only one who likes my ideas!) and kinda like this blog post, my intentions get redirected. So back on track. I think that if we added some cute stories about things we name out products after would be cute. We'll see if I ever get that dream off the ground. And plus, I have no idea how to even get a book published.

Tonight is going to be a little start to me writing more. This will probably be nothing more then a memory for me to look back on in ten years and say, "wow, I knew nothing then!" Hopefully I learn a lot in the next ten years!!

I think about sharing things that I've learned about being a new mommy or struggles about being a new mommy and how I don't know what I'm doing. I've thought about sharing Asa's outfits and do #ootd for him. (That's outfit of the day.... I had to look it up, not long ago, to figure it out!) But for today, I'm just going to share my New Years resolutions. We're only 10 days into the new year, better late then never!

Resolutions:
1. Pray more.
I was watching the Glenn Beck Program before Christmas and he was visiting with his wife about them. Resolutions that is... and he said that he didn't want to make some lame resolution like, loose weight or read my bible more. Not at those things are bad, but we (as humans) tend to just think about the broad things and then don't stick to them. Anyways.... It made since to me. So, with that being said, I want to talk to God more then I talk to myself in a day. Take time away from my own thoughts to listen to him. I know it will be hard, my mind goes a million miles in circles, but I'm in need of that!!

2. Cook.
This is kinda two parts. I want to be better about thinking about meals (that different then meal planning, right?) and getting them on the table at a decent time. Asa needs that. Part two, I'm going through all my recipes, things I've clipped or printed off and stuck in a drawer never too be tried, and organize, try and toss. Or keep. I've started. I have a new note book that I've started writing all my go to recipes or Christmas recipes in where it is prettier and organized!!
Oh and making a Christmas cookbook with all the stuff I grew up on.... Meal and treats... That way it's all in one spot!! Good gift for the fam too!

Well, two is about all the resolutions I can muster. I would like to have clean my house more, but I know that I will break that before the month is over. Don't get me wrong, my house isn't that messy, just un-dusted. I do keep it picked up. And then I have a crawler that scatters things all over, but I usually pick up all toys and ect. after he goes to bed. We start fresh in the morning.

Ok, I don't think I have anything else interesting to say.

Goodnight

5 years.

Bobby and I celebrated 5 years of marriage in November. We were supposed to go out to eat and then stay the night in the nice, newly renovated, historic hotel. The night before I got the stomach bug. Sick all night long! Definitely a memorable anniversary.

Well, we just postponed the date to the next weekend. We had such a good time and I did very well with not having Asa with me for 4 hours. I knew he was in good hands and I just enjoyed my time with my hubby!!

We ate in the hotels restaurant and then took a "self" tour of the building. You have to have a key to ride the elevator, so we've never been able to go up and see. Apparently the pent house suite on the 14th and 15th floors is still under construction. The door in the stair well were wide open. We just helped ourselves to the suite. It was fabulous. I would definitely live there!!

We also helped our selves to the roof.
This picture shows when we got there and then once we were on the roof!! So awesome.

Picture of the lobby for the second floor. The second floor is mainly just a ball room and some meeting rooms.

Asa after he joined us! He got to stay in the hotel with us!

The first 5 years have been wonderful!! I'm ready for the next 50!!!

And Cousin Piper

He got to ride Pipers horse, Punkin!

He enjoyed it so much. He would talk every time he came by us (they walked him in a circle) and held on tight to the saddle horn.

Brother and their babies!

Enjoyed the tree!!

Hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!!

Seven Months.

On Christmas Day our little man turned 7 months old. He is such a joy in our life.

At 7 months Asa is getting around really good. He is a very determined little guy and will not forget something he wants that he cannot have. He likes to get the things that bobby and I have... Remotes, phones, bottles... He pulls up on everything, is a little ham an will laugh when others are laughing!!

We are eating sweet potatoes, carrots, avocado, bananas, peas and mashed potatoes (our favorite!!)

We weigh 22 pounds and counting...
(Haven't measured him!)
And still only have 2 teeth!

Ok... I've had enough!

Happy New Year!

Six Months.

Even though he is 6 1/2 months now!

At 6 months I can sit up by myself, crawl and pull up. I weigh over 20 1/2 pounds and am 28"+ tall! I'm growing with the best of them... Oh, and I barely cry for shots. I'm a big boy!!

Where does the time go? I've been a stay at home mom now for a half year! I knew time flew by the older you get, but once you have kids it goes by even faster. I'm learning that first hand.

We celebrated Asa's first thanksgiving just after he turned 6 months old. That was pretty good minus mom (the hub of our family) getting the stomach bug the day of!! We all still cooked the meal and it still tasted good, but if it at wasn't the same. It was fun for Asa to hang out with his cousins. (Even though I have a feeling next year will be more fun!)

Cousin Tygh

Counsin Gracen

Asa has been crawling since about 5 1/2 months. He still takes it pretty slow... or gets distracted by things along his path, but we're not rushing it!! It's going by so fast anyways!

And we're mommy's big helper!

We took some family photos...

And photos by our self...

Life is grand!!!

I thank God everyday for this little/big blessing in our life!!

Five Months.

I know I don't post here much anymore... I'm trying to at least do his monthly update!! But I do have m hands full now!! I'm loving being a mom. He is so much fun!! Time sure flies and I'm trying to enjoy and soak up each stage.

Asa now can roll from his back to tummy! A big accomplishment since he hates being stuck on his back!! He laughs when he thinks things are funny, too! He has the best giggle ever! Such a fun noise!!

My little chunk weighs 20 pounds (ish) and is 27 1/2 inches long!

He loved the puppies...

Enjoyed some reading...

Did a little driving...

An helped feed cattle...

Took some naps.... While hanging...

And bounced...

And we can't forget, played with our tractors...

Here's to many more fun filled months!!

(I tried to publish this three days ago! Sorry it's just now up!)
