Week 40.

This is the week that I have been waiting for for 9 months. It is kinda weird to see that it is May 18th on the calendar. I've probably said that date 1000 times in the past 9 months. And it came and went. Even though I am so ready to meet my little boy, I know that it was God's timing that got him in here and it will be God's timing getting him out! His timing is perfect isn't it! That always seems apparent after the fact. It is sometimes hard to have faith during when you don't know really what to expect or when to expect it, but after the fact I always look back and say, "God, you sure know what you're doing!" I know God has the perfect birthday in mind for Asa!

We are at 40 weeks as of yesterday and just still waiting on him. My doctor and I agree that we will let him cook as long as he needs.... up to 42 weeks. I sure hope that he doesn't need to cook that much longer, but we both don't want to induce until it's necessary. I'm very pleased with my doctor and that what she is not pushing me to induce!

Here's to 9 months prego!!

Have a good Monday!

Week 39.

It is kinda unreal to me that I only have a few days left in this pregnancy. This was something that I wanted to badly... to be pregnant... and here we are about to have this kid. I was telling Bobby last night how crazy it is all the parts of this process we've  gone through. Trying to get pregnant, being so excited cause we were finally pregnant, telling family and friends, finding out that we are having a sweet lil boy, showers and getting everything ready... and now waiting. I've never thought of it this way before, but it's been an amazing journey with all different kinds of emotions you go through. Looking back it has mostly flown by. Now that we are counting the days till he comes, it seems like time has stopped. I'm not miserable or necessarily tired of being pregnant, but I am SO ready to meet him! {And to stop wondering when and how it will happen!} But I am so anxious!

This little booger is getting big. It is still amazing to me to feel him move. He mainly just has his foot sticking out my side, but he hiccups a lot, too! Ready to hold those little feet in my hands!

As far as progress goes, I am the same as last week. Doc says that 1st time pregnancies usually go to due date or a little over. So we're still counting... 3 days from today he is due!! EEK!!

I thought this little cold front and full moon might set something in motion, but I'm still pregnant!

Week 38.

I'm sure with my tardiness, some may be wondering if there is any news. Well.... there is no news! I'm still pregnant. At times I feel like this is never going to end, that I'm never going to get to see this sweet boys face. On the other hand, I'm not sure I'm ready to take care of a little one. I know once he is here it will all be wonderful and I won't remember the wait!

The update from the last Dr. appointment was good! I am still right on track and progressing. I am dilated to a 3 now! That has made things really real for me, but my cervix is still pretty thick, so it could still be a week or so. I go back on Monday!

I have had people ask when I think it will be. I've thought about it and really have no idea. {I mean how can you really predict that?} But I have had no major signs like "nesting" mode or anything. I thought that he might be coming yesterday. I have had more Braxton Hick contractions and I always wonder if this is the real deal... yet it hasn't ever been.

So here it is! The latest bump pic. It is a tad late, but I've documented this far, I don't want to stop!

I have gotten really lame with my chalkboards, but I think that chard and leaks don't really accurately describe this little man in me. So, it's just a count down. That's all I feel anyways... just counting the days until I get to meet him!

Have a great weekend!

Week 37.

It is hard to believe how fast time is flying. I can't wait to meet this son of mine. To see what he looks like. To hold him in my arms. In just a few short weeks he will be here! Although most of me is SO ready for him to be here, I'm still trying to cherish these last few weeks being pregnant and having just Bobby and I in the house. And I'm trying to enjoy him stretching in there, getting to feel his little feet poke out the side of my belly! What a little miracle!

As time has gone on I look back to when we first found out we were pregnant and then when we found out we were having a boy. It seems like so long ago! With 3 weeks to go, I cannot imagine being at the early stage of my pregnancy. I'm ready for all this anticipation to be over. I have thought about it so much and realized I cannot possibly understand what it is like until it is here. Oh for understanding!

As far as pregnancy updates, I think that his size is starting to take it's toll on my body. My rings no longer fit... neither do any of my clothes. I feel like I wear the same thing over and over... which means I do laundry all the time!! I guess that is something to get used to!!

I have gotten a hand full of meals in the freezer now! Yay! I want to get a few more made up before he gets here... we'll see how that goes!

And the count down is on....

Week 34 & 35 catchup!

Time for some catch up!

Speaking of cantalopes... its about that time of year! Little "lope" plants {as my husband calls them} have gone in the ground! It's garden season!!

I was given yet another shower. We are so extremely blessed! The ladies at worked all pooled in together and got me some really great things! It was such a fun shower with games and all!! Plus my sweet friend that put it all together had this adorable cake made for me!

We had our booth set up at Petticoats on the Prairie in Ballinger, Texas! It was fun! We got to do a little shopping and visiting! {Here is a snap of our booth!}

I got a gift in the mail from my sweet friend, Jessie! She did some Etsy shopping for me! I love all of it! There is a crocheted set of wrangler bottoms, boot and a hat!, monthly stickers for pictures, a "Made in Texas" onesie and a print of a woodland alphabet!I'm so excited about all of these! Won't be long until I can stick him in them!

I am now at 35 weeks! Friday marks a month from his due date!! He is the size of a honey dew melon! His kidneys are fully functional and his liver can process some waste products. Mainly we just have the lungs to finish developing and then he will be ready to join this world!

I am most anxious about seeing what he will look like! I'm pretty sure he will look a lot like his daddy, but I know he will be his own little look! Exciting!

I am getting ready though! I have his nursery {mostly} in order!

I still have yet to get his book shelf made. I have a pile of books ready to put on it! I am going to try and work on that this week and maybe by the end of next week it will be finished!! Need to get his daddy motivated to help me!!

Other then that, this are pretty much the same. Doc said last week he is still measuring right on track! I am still enjoying his little kicks and movements! Plus they seem to have increased! He moves ALL the time! Maybe he is just stronger and I am more aware of his kicks! I also cannot wear my wedding rings any more! With the temperatures rising.... along with my weight.... some swelling has been going on!  It's a good excuse to prop my feet up, though!!

This weekend we are off to move some cattle and celebrate Easter (and a wedding) with family! Plus I get to bring my highchair and stroller home! {This kid has so much stuff already!}

Happy Easter Weekend!

Week 33.

I had meant to do this the beginning of the week, but we've had a very busy week.

Monday was normal, but we got up early on Tuesday (like 3:45 in the morning early) to head to New Mexico to go pick up bulls! I took the day off cause I didn't want to miss out on the excitement! And I'm so glad I went. Even after spending the entire day in the truck and getting swollen ankles and feet, it was worth it.

First stop was Carslbad, NM. We headed to the ranch to pick out bulls! The maps app on my phone said it would take 4 hours, but it was just over 3. So we were there a bit earlier then we thought. Plus, we didn't even think about loosing an hour and it was even earlier for them! Thankfully they are morning people and were up when we got there! Since it was so early, they invited us in for coffee! It was so refreshing talking with people who love the Lord about the Lord. Not a typical day!

After visiting for a little while we went down to the pens to do what we were there to do! We met their son who works on the ranch with them. He was so nice, too, and we enjoyed the morning visiting and sorting through bulls! We found the ones we wanted, got loaded up, business complete  and then hit the road! Just 4 more hours and we will be home!

A few potty breaks, McDonald's breakfast and many cat naps, and we were home!Time to put these boys with their new girlfriends! Let's just say he's one happy camper! Bobby said, "Now that is the definition of happy, happy, happy!" {This coming right after we listened to Phil Robertson's book on tape!}

The heifers were happy too, but not so happy when they found out we didn't bring feed with us! But I think they like their new boyfriend!

After eating a quick bit to eat, we headed to Alpine to take a trailer back to it's owner. That's a 6 hour round trip! Let me tell you this preggers was tired! {This is probably the closest thing to a 'baby-moon" as we will get! Bobby probably doesn't even know what that is and would most definitely say that a "baby-moon" is ridiculous!}

And I had to drop Bobby off at the tractor the next day so he could move to another field. It was cool watching him fold the 16 row plow {think he might call it a lister bar} up! They made that last year and so it's cool to see them use it!

With "jet-lag" I was behind on getting this other stuff done... like updating my blog! So here is my weekly update!

Sorry for the awful picture of a pineapple and lighting! My camera's flash is not wanting to work!

Maternity Photos.

I wanted to share a few of my maternity pictures we took weekend before last! I believe my sister is going to edit them, but this is the raw pictures! I think that they turned out pretty cute! {Even though I'm pretty critical of pics of myself!}

Week 32.

Not much change since last week. Just continued growth! He moves all the time, which is a fun thing to experience! I can feel him stretching on me daily!

He is just slightly larger then last week weighting in at 3 3/4 pounds and 16.7 inches long! {Approximately, of course!} I went to the doc last week and he is measuring right where he should be! And his heart beat was 150. He's a healthy little boy!

My brother and his wife found out this week that they are having a little boy as well! We are so thrilled that Asa will have so many cousins so close to his age! What an exciting time in life!

I had my 3rd shower this past Sunday. I didn't get any pictures from the shower so there is not much to share! I did receive our crib from my sweet hostesses! It feels good to have that done and now we are almost ready for him to be here! I will get a mattress next time I go to town and get his bed all set up! For now this is what it looks like!

The rest of the room is not put together yet! I'm not sure exactly where I am going to put everything yet! I am also going to be building a bookshelf for all the great books I have gotten!

You can see the basket full of blankets for him! We have been so blessed with some sweet sweet gifts!

Shower #2.

My sweet sisters, S-I-L and mom threw me a shower at me parents house this past weekend! We had such a good time. The best thing I think was getting the family all together... and playing on the porch with miss G.

The shower was very nice, too! The girls went all out on decoration and getting everything cute and ready for company!

This was the cute diaper cake they made for me! It is rolled up like logs of wood. So now I have a good stack of wood and a fire going! What a good idea! They did a great job! My sis also made the woodland animals and window for me! They all will be going in his room! So perfect!!

This is the large variety of food! Those carrot cupcakes were amazing!!

Bobby's Nanny and mom came to the shower! So nice of them to make it to another shower!

The LOOT! So many cute things! This little boy is so blessed! Fix-Me-Up Johnny Tractor is one of my favorite gifts! It's so cool, I've already gotten it out of the package and played with it! I told Bobby that is just the first of many toys he will have to take out of packages like that!! They are definitely kid proof!

My little sis, Mollie and I! And a lady giving my mom the stare down, like you better not take that picture! Love you Tanya!!

 We got a sister picture!

My S-I-L, Lyn, and I are prego at the same time! We had to take pic together! I'm 31 weeks and she is 17 weeks! She is barely showing, but as cute as can be! Can't wait to find out what Baby Fullagar is going to be!! Next week!!

My sister also took my maternity pictures! I am now PATIENTLY waiting to get them! I can't wait to see them! I will share when I get them!

Another thing we jammed into our weekend was getting together with our cousins. It has been many many years since we have all gotten together. Probably since Mikkie's wedding, almost 6 years ago! We were finally able to gather back up and we went and ate dinner together! It was a fun time of catching up!

 This is the extended group!

Us original cousins!

All in all... A fabulous weekend! Both Bobby and I are overwhelmed by all the love and support we are getting as we prepare to bring this little boy into the world! So blessed!

Week 31.

This week Asa is measuring over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3 1/3 pounds (about the size of a coconut) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

This was my update for the week! All sounds about right. He is moving and I can definitely tell he is growing! I feel him stretching me out more and more!

How far along? 31 weeks, 2 days
Total Weight Gain: I go to the doc this week.. we will see
Maternity Clothes? Yes, even though I mainly wear leggings or dresses
Stretch marks? No. I'm keeping oiled up!
Sleep? Good and through the night!
Best Moment this week? Hitting 7 months! Today!
Miss anything? Bending over easily!
Movement? All the time, even though he seems way more cramped in there then ever before!
Food Cravings? Sandwiches!
Gender? Boy
Labor Signs? I think I have been feeling Braxton Hicks, but they aren't painful, it's just a weird feeling! Maybe I'm wrong.
Belly Button? IN. Almost non-existent though!
Rings off/on? On!
Happy/Moody? Happy!
Looking forward to? My 3rd Shower this weekend! I get my crib and then I can finally finish the nursery. Then it will be all about the wait!

Today is 2 months from Asa's due date! It is weird to believe! I keep hearing that these are the most unpleasant months, but just like I've said from the beginning... I'm going to enjoy every minute! I won't last forever! Plus, I definitely want him fully cooked!

Week 30.

30 weeks down and 10 to go!

I cannot believe how fast time is flying. I'm almost overwhelmed with May fastly approaching. On the other hand, I cannot hardly wait for it to be here! I'm so excited to meet our little boy and see what he looks like and to get to feel his feet from this side!

I was outside yesterday afternoon and caught my shadow! It is still shocking to see a big ole belly sticking out there. You would think after 6+ months I would get used to the idea. It still is an amazing miracle!

In other news... We have decided that building a cedar crib might have been a bit too much for us right now... plus getting Bobby's butt in gear was the biggest challenge!
So, some sweet ladies that are hosting a shower for me are gifting one to us! I'm so excited! I can't wait to get it so I can get me nursery in order.

I did finish the curtains for the nursery this past weekend. No. No pictures, but I promise I will post pictures of the nursery soon as I have it done!

His nursery was my craft room prior to becoming his nursery. It has still been my habit to do all my projects in there until I have a sleeping baby in there! Thus, it's a wreck. Bobby is not very pleased with my mess, but it will all be picked up and ready soon!

I have my next shower this weekend. I'm mainly excited because we will get the whole family together! It will be fun to see everyone and catch up!

Hope you all have a fabulous week!

Week 27.

My oh my how time flies!

We had such a busy weekend. Saturday we got up and hauled a load of junk to the scrap metal place. This is like the 4th weekend in a row that we've hauled a load. It is such a satisfying feeling to get the places cleaned up AND to get a little cash for it! Saving up for baby Asa! We came home and ate lunch and went to check cattle, fix water and load up more junk! We hurried home and I got my bread that had been rising for 3 hours baked and cleaned up in time for my sister, Tyler and miss G to get there. My sister started selling Mary Kay again, so I was throwing her a party Sunday afternoon! We had such a fun time playing with Gracen and relaxing after a long day!

The MK party went well. We had fun playing with some makeup, even if I was wearing different eye color on each eye!

They left shortly after the party... had to get back to work on Monday. I on the other hand got to celebrate President's day at home! I told Bobby that was a glimpse of what life will be like once Asa is here! I will get to cook Bobby breakfast and send him out the door, eat lunch with him when he comes home and work on projects during the day! I know many people will tell me that I won't have time to do anything but tend to the kid {and I'm sure there will be an adjustment period}, but I don't see my projects ending. There WILL be time!

I will miss working. I've thought about it lately! I will have to make an effort to get out of the house and go see people! It's nice now, I get to see them while I'm at work and out and about. Now my schedule {which I love having a schedule!} will be turned upside down! Definitely will have to figure out some "non-routine" routine! I'm sure everyday will be different!

{sorry, I will stop rambling!}

After having Monday off, I got Tuesday off as well. I had my Dr.'s appointment in San Angelo. Most of the time they are pretty uneventful, but this one I took my glucose test {you have to wait an hour}, my Whooping cough vaccine, regular checkup of weight, blood pressure, measure and listen to the heart beat, and then we went a pre-registered at the hospital. I will tell you that makes things a bit more real! All in all a good appointment! All is well! Asa is growing right on track!

How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain: 28lbs. {Scary}
Maternity clothes? Yes!
Stretch marks? Nope!
Sleep: Like a rock last night!
Best moment this week: Little hiccups!
Miss Anything? Low metabolism!
Movement: He moves all the time!
Food cravings: Chocolate!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Gender: Boy!!
Labor Signs: No.
Belly Button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Having the crib done!

That's all for the update! Hopefully crib pictures will be coming soon... meaning crib progress coming soon!

26 WEEKS!

Time is sure flying by. I'm on my last week in my second trimester! Woah! Life is good! I'm getting more excited about seeing Lil' Asa and wondering what he might look like!

I am definitely enjoying this time now, though, where I can sleep and I feel great! I still have the attitude that I am going to enjoy every single bit of this pregnancy! I guess it may be the right of passage to being a mom, but everyone will give you their horror stories or their, "you just wait till...." stories. I'm sure that everything won't be all sunshine and roses {i.e. Labor}, but this is a wonderful miracle that I am getting to be a part of and I'm going to enjoy it!!

Now to these belly shots!

That is not technically a bun, but you get the idea! Now that I have sourdough, I've been baking bread at least once a week! It is not really that hard, plus it is delicious! This cold cold weather is great for bread baking, too! I just let it rise in front of the fire!

I had to do a picture with out the apron to show how big this bump is really growing!

Week 24.

Eek. Time is sure flying by. I'm sure most brand new mothers are way more on top of things than I am, but we are having to success with the nursery. I'm mainly waiting for my crib to be built. We gathered all the cedar we needed a couple weekends ago, and now it is sitting out there just waiting for someone to come build it! It is hard when life gets in the way. Hopefully this weekend we will have nice weather and Bobby and I can start tackling that large project!

I have got a lot of the decor for the room done or in the works. All the clothes from the garage sale are washed and in his dresser/changing table, closet cleaned out and diapers are piling up. Now all I need is a bed and I will be much more comfortable.

I have the changing table in the room now. It has some socks, clothes, diapers and a changing pad! It is good to have at least a little done!

These are just pics off my phone, so they are blurry, but you get the idea. There is Bobby's granddad's old long bow in the corner. It will eventually hang on the wall, hopefully with a quiver full of old arrows!

Another thing I have been working on lately is blankets for little Asa. I will take pics soon and post!

My mantel for Valentines! I don't do much decor, this is about it, but I think it's cute! Simple is what I'm liking these days!

Now to the bump up date!

How far along? 24 Weeks, 3 days
Total weight gain: too much. I need to stay off the carbs. Darn sourdough bread.
Maternity clothes? Bought me some pants yesterday!
Stretch marks? Nope!
Sleep: Pretty good!
Best moment this week: Hearing him move in my tummy!

Miss Anything? Fitting into my clothes!
Movement: Kicking more pronounced! He moves all the time!
Food cravings: Chocolate!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.

Gender: Boy!!
Labor Signs: No.
Belly Button in or out? In!

Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Having the nursery done!

Not much has changed on this update, but I think this will be fun to look back on someday {like when I'm preggo with baby #2!}.

Lots and lots of projects are in my head. Hopefully that doesn't overwhelm me and I can just get one thing done at a time. Lord grant me patience!

Have a great week!

Week 22.

Still playing catch up and playing with this baby bump. It is still so strange to me. I've just now started to really show it off and I'm still learning how to dress around it. Still have not bought a pair of maternity jeans. I'm just wearing leggings or my be band. It's getting me by so far. Maybe I can find a pair of maternity jeans for cheap!

Trying to come up with some different ideas for my chalkboards. I don't want them to become boring. The only changes that we've really made this week are maybe a the bump is bit bigger. Asa is about the size of a spaghetti squash (according to baby center). That seems pretty big to me! I'm loving it! He is still pretty active and I can't get over how cool that is!

~

In other news. I have a new niece. Piper Grace McIlroy arrived on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. She was 6 weeks early, but she was already 4 lbs 10 ounces and is doing very well. She is still in the NICU, but our prayers are that she gains weight like crazy and can go home soon! Momma is doing really well! Praise the Lord He is watching over them!

This is right after she was born, before the hooked her up to all that stuff! She's teeny tiny!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

M
