Week 19.

Well, the Christmas Holidays keep me busy for sure. I am sorry I haven't posted! I took my weekly picture a bit late, but you get the idea!

This was the week of Christmas! I love Christmas season and getting all our families together for the holidays, but I will tell you with what lied ahead the next week, I was way more excited for New Year's Eve!

Monday- December 23: We headed to my parents. We spent that night with them and had my families Christmas on Christmas Eve. It was so good to have my whole family there. Miss G opened her stocking and then was done with that. She sat in the middle of the floor playing with mega blocks shes had for months. That's all she needed I guess. So we just sent presents flying over her head and went about our business and she never skipped a beat. Blocks are soooo interesting!!
She is a doll!

Wednesday- December 25- Christmas Day: We got up at 5 in the morning and headed to Bobby's parents. It took us a little over an hour and a half. Not bad. We enjoyed visiting about all the things that had transpired the day before and enjoy a crisp Christmas morning with our seat heaters. We stopped about half way in a little town. This momma had to tee tee! I also got coffee for him and a little snack for me. They have  a light display set up at the park in this little town that is set to music. Since it was dark still I convinced Bobby to stop so we could drive through. It was one of those that you tune your radio station to and the lights dance to the music! It was not very long {Bobby was thankful!} but it was still great fun for  Christmas morning!
When we got to his parents house, they were still in bed! So we unloaded all the gifts and made more coffee and waited for everyone to get there!
After all his siblings arrived, we opened gifts. It is pretty much the Jaxson (4 1/2 yr old nephew) show. He would tear through one and then ask if he had any more. Gosh he is spoiled. It will be good to have 2 younger cousins next year!! We loaded up and went to Granny's (Bobby's paternal Grandmother) for lunch and Christmas with that side of the family! We finally made it home around 7 or 7:30. It was a long day!

Thursday we drove to Hempstead, TX to see some friends! It was about 3 1/2- 4 hour drive. It was beautiful though. We spent the night catching up and playing games. We returned to his parents the next day. We stopped by Washington on the Brazos State Park. It was the birth place of Texas. The museum was closed so we couldn't go see the come and take it canon, but we walked the grounds and reminisced about what it used to be like!
That evening was his mom's side of the families Christmas. It was at his parents house, so we just helped set up and enjoyed visiting! We had dinner and then after dark went for a hay ride. They put hay bales on a flat bed trailer, pulled by Rosalee our Red Willys Jeep, and sing Christmas carols! We made it back to the house and played Chinese Christmas! That is always a blast!

We finally made it home on Saturday! It was a long and fun week!

This was the Christmas Tree at my parents house. They always cut down a cedar tree off the place. It was decorated so cute this year and my dad even helped! He wanted us to find the ornaments with our name on them! It was a fun thing to do! My goal is to go cut down a tree when we have kids!! Maybe next year!!

This was our tree this year! I didn't do a theme like last year, just stuck all the ornaments I had on there. It is the start of our family tree!
I didn't take pictures of them, but I made an ornament last year and this year. I hope to keep making an ornament each year to put on the tree! And definitely one for each kid!

Hope everyone else had a very Merry Christmas!!

  1. cute tree :)!
Ours is very hodge podge too...all the ornaments that the kids make at school and church...it's hard not to hang them up year after year :)
What a great idea to make an ornament for your children each year. I buy one each year for the kids but it would have so much more meaning if it was handmade by their mom :)!
Glad you had a wonderful Christmas!
