While the husband's away....

With Bobby being gone, it a is project mania, organizational disaster around here. I knew he was going to be gone at least a week, so I made a huge list of things I want to do while he is gone. Some of these things are projects I've wanted to do for a while now and some are things like dusting and vacuuming (I know I've been terrible with the deep cleaning lately, but my toilet is always clean!). I stick things like cleaning on the list so I make myself do them. I could immerse myself in projects all day and not get anything important done. I have this thing about marking things off of my lists. I love having things marked off so if it is on the list, I'll do it! If you don't believe me, check out my Pinterest. I have a board named "Made It" for all the project ideas I've completed. I also have a much bigger board named "Make It" for all the things I would like to make.
At the top of my list it looks like this:
Clean house
Take a walk everyday!
Plan Bobby's birthday! (he had a birthday while he was gone. I did a little before he left, but I just gotta surprise him with a couple more little things. Mainly, a cherry pie!)
Back some boxes

Then the project list is where is gets big! I have actually completed a couple projects on the list. Yesterday I spray painted our fan. I know Bobby will love that, but I couldn't resist after I saw it!
I'm really into blue these days. More like teal or turquoise, but it seems like all my projects or clothes turn out blueish. The other project I finally completed was this frame I saw. My inspiration came from non other then a pin. I changed it up a little, but I think that it turned out pretty darn cute. This is Bobby and my fisrt dance song at our wedding!
Even though these are only 2 of the like 15 projects I want to do, it's a start. I am planning on finishing Mr. Clayton's quilt tonight while watching The Bacherlorette. I'll post pictures when I have it complete!
A couple of weekends ago Bobby and I stopped at Hobby Lobby (that's a mouth full) and got some shadow boxes to frame some antiques we have. I was hoping to hit a sale. And much to my delight, there was a 50% off sale! It made my day! I haven't taken pictures yet (and still have one left to complete), but I will do that as well!

Now at the bottom of my list are those things like painting at the house and finishing the pantry floor that I would really love to put off, but it's on the list so it must be done!

Hope everyone has a great Monday and a good last week of June! Where does the time go?

Father's Day Weekend!

What a weekend. Sometimes you just need to get away and go relax. We went to my parents this weekend to spend Father's Day with my daddy! We had a great time. We played games, ate good, took a big hike up the mountain, worked and visited.

We left Brady and headed back home. Bobby was supposed to leave this morning for Oklahoma to go plow. Long story short, plans changed! So, in the midst of all the plans changes, Carl (Dennis' business partner on the Oklahoma farming and cousin) needed to go fill his plane up with fuel. He said, "You want to go with?" Of course. I've wanted to go up in his plane for 2 years now! Of course, I didn't have my camera, so I don't have any pictures. I could have got some really cool shots! We just flew around St. Lawrence and over where our cows are. It was cool and a thrill, but I was sure glad to get back on the ground. I was getting a little nauseous. Maybe next time it will be a bit cooler and not as rough.

I hope everyone had a great Father's Day weekend and let their dad know how much they love them!

Our Bread and Butter

The time has come for some of our youngsters to be taken off their moms and go to greener pastures. We had some January babies that have got to go. The Lord was with us and we were able to gather them and sort them with no problems! Praise the Lord! (Recently they have been scattered and don't want to come up very easily). Here are some pictures of our afternoon!

We have just a bunch of pets, so they follow the feed wagon all the way to the pens. Even the little babies made the trip! You can tell we have had some rain! The mud puddles are so nice to see. And you can kind of tell it's brewing up a storm in the distance!

The big bull that thinks he's something else with all these women!

This is our first calf heifer! Her name is 65! Ha, that's a good one, HUH! She is such a good momma and has the cutest little baby! Below is her baby! Quite a pair!

 This is out newest baby!

One of the old bunch. You can call him butter!

I know that not everyone will get as much enjoyment out of my cows as I do, but I love it. I don't look at this as work, it's more of our hobby that makes us money! I can't wait until we can do this as a job and not have to have other jobs!

All the live-long day!

I don't know why, but I started singing I've been working on the railroad... All the live long day! I feel like this is how building a house is. Work work work! I'm not sure if it will ever get done, but here is what we have got done.

The shower in the Master Bath

Master Tub

Guest Shower

Mud Room Potty
Finally in!

Mudroom Closet door

Pantry Floor
Bobby finished the tiling on the big shower yesterday. All the showers still have to be grouted. One toilet in! Only 2 more to go! We got 4 doors in, only 9 to go!! Ha! The pantry floor is almost finished, just needs a piece ripped and then the transition. Other then that and carpet, trim, counter tops, sinks, oven, dishwasher, microwave... we're good to go!
The great part is that Bobby will be planting tomorrow, off to Oklahoma on Sunday for a week+ then maybe by the end of July we will be in. Ugh! Oh well!

Sorry for 2 posts in one day. I just finally got it all together!
Have a wonderful rest of the week!
Praise God for the rain... and the promise of rain!!!

West Texas Storms

I just love to hear the thunder roll and see a big ole thunder head build up. It is one of my most favorite things. Especially if it comes with a good soaking rain.
Bobby and I got home from working on the house (progress pictures to come!) and I whipped up a quick meal, we finished watching the Bachelorette and then headed out side. It was such a beautiful evening. Going from 105* to somewhere in the 70's is amazing. I just had to get out and enjoy it. And much to our surprise, there was a light show going on. So, we brought out the chairs and camera and enjoyed the scenery. We did get a light shower, but it kinda moved out to the south of us! There is chance of this all week!!! Bring on the rain!

Now that's living... Out here in the cotton patch!
