Week 28.

As the weeks fly by I am more and more feeling the crunch to get things ready for Mr. Asa, and yet still have not much progress on this place he will sleep.... his crib! My goal was to get it done before March, yet here it is just a few days away. We almost scrapped the idea and I thought I found something else I liked, but that fell through, so I guess we are back on the cedar crib plan. Time will soon tell if we can get it done.

March is going to be a busy one for us. My first shower is this weekend! Some sweet ladies that go to church with his parents are throwing it for me, so we are headed that direction. Of course all Bobby really cares about is coyote hunting while we will be at the shower. I mean we have to focus on what is important here!

The next weekend Bobby is going with some guys for a guys weekend! He hasn't done that in a while and I'm sure he will enjoy his time! Probably the last for a little while!

The next weekend is a shower the my sisters are hosting for me and the next is another shower here in GC. I feel so blessed that all these people care about us and are excited for this little bundle we are bringing into the world! It is kinda overwhelming and definitely humbling to "feel the love"!

Another thing that will be keeping me busy is Texas Cotton Tales. I know I haven't talked about it in a while. We had a couple shows in October and since then it has just been holidays and baby planning {and cold freezing weather!}. Now we have a couple more coming up this spring. The first I won't be able to make due to a shower the same weekend, but we were contacted by a lady through Etsy to come to her show in Cleburne. That is a cool feeling when people approach you about their interest in what you do! We are so thrilled and my little sis is actually going to be helping us with this one.

Even though I am not attending, I still have to get things made and ready for that show! I have been trying to get at least one little project done at a time!

Then we have Petticoats on the Prairie April 11-12. I will be more of a presence then help, but it will be fun!

This past weekend I got a few things knocked out! I've been so preoccupied with getting stuff ready for Asa that I haven't done much for TCT or the Esty shop at all. I finally got a few of those things on our Etsy shop

I made these tassel banners. I think they turned out cute, so I hope that others do too and they sell good!

 And I made a few chalkboards. {Something I need to do more of!}

A couple canvasses that I framed.

Slowly but surely I am getting some things rounded up! I've done a couple other projects that I haven't taken pictures of.

I also finally put a custom chalkboard on Etsy. I will see how that does. I have had several people tell me that I need to do that, but am just now braving it!

Hopefully this and Thirty One will keep me busy as I stay home with Asa!

Now for the update.

Mr. Asa weighs 2 1/4 pounds (about the size of a large eggplant) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can open and close his eyes, which now sport lashes. This movement is more of a reflexive blink than a deliberate opening and closing, but it won't be long before he's batting those beauties at you.

One thing I know for sure is he is very active. Yesterday I felt like he moved ALL afternoon. It kinda concerned me a little, but I'm sure it is just part of the growing process.

This morning he as {is} at it again. I grabbed Bobby's hand and he probably move the most Bobby has ever felt. It is pretty cool! He had been a big wiggle worm.

With the chalkboard, just to explain Texas weather, I am definitely ready for spring. We have had some beautiful days. This past weekend was gorgeous. Today it was 27* as I was driving to work. Brrr...

Bring on the sunshine!
Not sure if I have grown much since last week, but I'm definitely starting to experience moving around the bump. More and more it is getting harder to bend over.

I was trying to paint my toes the other day and it was about all I could do to reach! Maybe I will have to teach Bobby how to paint toes... ha!

Here is to 12 weeks left!

Hope you all have a great "bump" day!

Week 27.

My oh my how time flies!

We had such a busy weekend. Saturday we got up and hauled a load of junk to the scrap metal place. This is like the 4th weekend in a row that we've hauled a load. It is such a satisfying feeling to get the places cleaned up AND to get a little cash for it! Saving up for baby Asa! We came home and ate lunch and went to check cattle, fix water and load up more junk! We hurried home and I got my bread that had been rising for 3 hours baked and cleaned up in time for my sister, Tyler and miss G to get there. My sister started selling Mary Kay again, so I was throwing her a party Sunday afternoon! We had such a fun time playing with Gracen and relaxing after a long day!

The MK party went well. We had fun playing with some makeup, even if I was wearing different eye color on each eye!

They left shortly after the party... had to get back to work on Monday. I on the other hand got to celebrate President's day at home! I told Bobby that was a glimpse of what life will be like once Asa is here! I will get to cook Bobby breakfast and send him out the door, eat lunch with him when he comes home and work on projects during the day! I know many people will tell me that I won't have time to do anything but tend to the kid {and I'm sure there will be an adjustment period}, but I don't see my projects ending. There WILL be time!

I will miss working. I've thought about it lately! I will have to make an effort to get out of the house and go see people! It's nice now, I get to see them while I'm at work and out and about. Now my schedule {which I love having a schedule!} will be turned upside down! Definitely will have to figure out some "non-routine" routine! I'm sure everyday will be different!

{sorry, I will stop rambling!}

After having Monday off, I got Tuesday off as well. I had my Dr.'s appointment in San Angelo. Most of the time they are pretty uneventful, but this one I took my glucose test {you have to wait an hour}, my Whooping cough vaccine, regular checkup of weight, blood pressure, measure and listen to the heart beat, and then we went a pre-registered at the hospital. I will tell you that makes things a bit more real! All in all a good appointment! All is well! Asa is growing right on track!

26 WEEKS!

Time is sure flying by. I'm on my last week in my second trimester! Woah! Life is good! I'm getting more excited about seeing Lil' Asa and wondering what he might look like!

I am definitely enjoying this time now, though, where I can sleep and I feel great! I still have the attitude that I am going to enjoy every single bit of this pregnancy! I guess it may be the right of passage to being a mom, but everyone will give you their horror stories or their, "you just wait till...." stories. I'm sure that everything won't be all sunshine and roses {i.e. Labor}, but this is a wonderful miracle that I am getting to be a part of and I'm going to enjoy it!!

Now to these belly shots!

That is not technically a bun, but you get the idea! Now that I have sourdough, I've been baking bread at least once a week! It is not really that hard, plus it is delicious! This cold cold weather is great for bread baking, too! I just let it rise in front of the fire!

I had to do a picture with out the apron to show how big this bump is really growing!

Man Crush Monday!

I wanted to give you a taste of what I get to live with! I am so incredibly blessed to spend the rest of my life with this guy! He is so much fun and I love that we always have so much fun together! I'm also really blessed that my son gets to grow up with such an incredible example! I'm loving my life!

See what I mean by fun! What a goober!

Oh, we're just out checking cows... that's a good time to pull out an "iPad". Ha.. We had a good laugh. I even think that the cows snickered a little! Why you have an eye patch in your pocket is a totally different matter. Random!!

On top of having fun, we got to see our sweet little babies! This is by far my favorite time of year!

Calving season!

Some good mommas! Love getting out there on a nice sun shiny day!

Now it is freezing again! Gotta love Texas weather!

Have a happy Monday!

Weekend in a Nutshell!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Ours went by really fast, but I felt like I got some projects done, so it was, all-in-all, good!  We went from wonderful spring weather on Saturday to a wintery icy day Sunday. It was good to stay cooped up inside and catch up on some rest though.

Saturday we took another load of scrap to the scrap yard. We have been cleaning up around the place and hauling things off! It is a rewarding feeling to get things cleaned up... and get paid for it! Every little bit helps! We got home from town and ate lunch then went and checked cows and heifers. I love getting to go see the babies! Even though I didn't get any pictures, we had some more babies on the ground. There was one momma off from the pack with a brand new little one. Not sure if it is a little heifer calf or bull calf, momma wasn't having up get any closer then we were. It is moments like that I kick myself that I didn't have my camera in hand!

I did get some pictures of the heifers though. Those ladies crack me up. It's like a bunch of teenage girls. They stick in a pack and have the funniest personalities. We stuck them on wheat this past week, so you would expect to see them there. They're off in the pasture instead. Kids. What do you do? Ha. I got some shots of them though!

People say we don't have mountains in West Texas. Those are my mountains in the background!

Of course in my mind I want a beautiful solid green background... but who are we kidding. This is real life!

I also finished the last 2 receiving blankets that I'm going to make for Asa. {for now anyway!}

This one is just a simple plaid flannel receiving blanket with his name on the front. I don't do cursive monogram much, so it was fun for a change!

This stag blanket is more of a snuggle blanket then a receiving blanket. It is small, but it's so soft and i can see us getting a lot of miles out of it. There are somethings that didn't turn out exactly like I had hoped, but I'm still learning!

You can also see the rocker I have for the nursery! I just put some faux sheep wool on the seat! I'm really liking how it looks!

Sunday I got to sleep in. We didn't have power so we just kinda hung by the fire and read and chilled! After running around everywhere on Saturday, it was nice to chill. We went at lunch to the Church to get our chicken dinner we ordered. The 4-H club does a fundraiser every super bowl Sunday for a trip they take, so of course we had to get some. Those dads sure know how to cook a chicken! We brought it home a devoured it, along with some beans, cole slaw and delicious bbq sauce!! Yummy!

I've been trying to get my hospital bag ready for when Asa makes his appearance. I have been looking at many different lists and trying to decide what all I need or can have already packed. There are some things that won't be packed until the day of, but I have been getting things together that will not be used until Asa is here.

I wanted a gown to wear in the hospital the would be cute and that I could still feed out of easily. So, I made my own! It is definitely not perfect and I hope it will not be too small, but I think it turned out pretty cute! This was my Sunday afternoon project!

I put snaps on the shoulders so I can take it down and put it back up easily!

Now it is packed, ready to go, in my bag! One thing checked off the list!!

With those projects marked off the list, now it's on to the next! I'm not sure if I will ever be done with projects! I think even if I were done, I would make up a list of new projects. I always have something in my head! Maybe I can get Bobby motivated to help me with some of these big projects for the nursery!! Let's pray for that!

Have a great week!
