Miss Gracen's Big 1st Birthday!

Now, as promised (even if it is a week late), here are pictures of Gracen's first birthday party! We had a busy Saturday preparing for the party by making ice cream and cake and getting all the details in order. It was exhausting, but so much fun!

I don't know if I mentioned it, but my sister (G's mom) broke her ankle/leg the previous Monday. Bobby told her that was awful timing!! She had most everything planned and ready to go and we all pitched in and helped get things to the party. It was my pleasure not only to help with the party, but to take care of Gracen for Mikkie. She had surgery on Wednesday and is in a splint cast and crutches with absolutely no pressure on the leg. So, I got to get miss G up and feed her breakfast, put her down for naps, bath her, ect... Love being this little ones aunt!!

So here are some of the decorations from the party! I took these on my sisters phone cause I forgot mine!! You'll have to excuse blurriness and such! Mik had a friend taking real pictures at the party, so these are just pre-party!

And she melts her Uncle Bobby's heart!! She would crawl up on the couch, then scoot down off the couch, then crawl around and her daddy (or I) would chase her her back up the couch! She was all giggles that night! It was my favorite!

And she is so smart. She does her own version, but she knows the sign language for more! And says, "mo..."

Miss Gracen is a HUGE Blessing in our lives!! Love her!!

Foto Friday

I know I have been slacking lately with no posts. I haven't had anything to post lately and when I do, I forget my camera. Oh course!

Well, here is what has been going on lately!

Garden:
The garden loved the rain we had. We totaled 3.4 inches. It was wonderful. I can definitely handle not seeing the sun for 4 days during the summer. Now that we've had a week of sunshine since, the weeds are getting even more out of control! And I haven't had time to get to pulling them!
Our tomato plant is doing extraordinarily well! We have more then one, but this has been the only one to thrive! He has a buddy right next to him, but he hasn't done a whole lot of producing, but we have gotten a couple!

Birthday Weekend:

Tuesday was my birthday! So last weekend Bobby took me to Canyon Texas to get away a bit! We stayed with some good friends there and they took us skeet shooting, to eat at a dive called Coyote Bluff and then to the Texas Musical Play in Palo Duro Canyon. It was a fabulous evening! We will be going back to the canyon to get in some camping and hiking! It is a beautiful spot!

 I don't have any picture of the play of the canyon. We were running a bit late and so I didn't think about it, plus they ask you not to take picture at the play.

Bobby got me some more Fiestaware. I love getting new colors. I got lots of turquoise (love it!), the new blue, Lapis, Flamingo, Paprika and plum! I got a plum plate and the plum gusto bowl from my in-laws and also turquoise salt and pepper shakers from Bobby that aren't pictured!

Bobby also got me a turquoise seed bead necklace! It is gorgeous! He is a doll!

We also went out to eat on Tuesday at Hotel Settles. I'm loving that place. It's kinda romantic! They have their pool open now. You have to be a guest to swim, but we took a peek! I would love to go stay there, but it seems weird to get a hotel room 40 miles from home!

Today:

I took a couple hours off work this morning to get caught up on things around the house. I was anticipating a really slow day at work and the boss said it was cool if I came in late! Love my job!

So I took a big walk this morning! I love early morning walks. Normally would say peaceful and quiet walks, but the rigs around us are quite noisy right now!

I snapped a couple pics with my phone! The beauty of a morning cannot be captured in a photo, but I can at least try!

Birthday Weekend Fun.

I'm sure it is not surprise that I didn't get many pictures. Bobby turned 29 on Saturday and his parents and Granny came out to celebrate with him {us}!

Friday night we went to the baseball game in Midland. It was a fun game with many hits and lots for coupons! Bobby's dad even caught him a Frisbee for his birthday! We had a grand time and enjoyed it immensely.
Saturday {birthday day!!} I got up and made pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream. Bobby did some work around the barn and we kinda just hung out {I weeded in my garden and watered my ward and ect...} then we grilled some burgers and squash for lunch. Right after lunch, we headed to the pasture to pull a windmill. I know I've shared pictures on this before, but I wish I had gotten a picture of my hands. I looked like an orange man. I had rust and grease all over me!! After we got the windmill pulled and "pushed" we worked the few calves we had left to work!
We finally got home around 8:30 and got ready to go eat birthday day dinner in town. I was completely exhausted, so I was extremely happy not to have to cook!! We ate at the hotel settles. The Settles opened for business October 1, 1930, and was occupied until the early 1980s. It was then abandoned until this year. In January 2013 it reopened! They have done an excellent job restoring the hotel and keeping it "original" to the the era. They have lots of history through out the hotel! We had a lovely dinner!

Sunday we got up early once again and went to move the cows to a new pasture! We had left them in the trap at the windmill over night so they would already be up. We were going to trail them to the new pasture, but since it crosses the highway, we decided to just trailer them over. It was a nice morning getting to be out with the things that we love!! We got home just before noon and I made Bobby Crawfish Bisque. I guess since he likes to drag out his birthday, we were still celebrating! His family left after lunch and we had a nice relaxing evening.... minus the washer breaking and having water all over the laundry room to clean up.

The cows are enjoying some fresh belly high grass!! Doesn't get better then this!!
